Privacy & map credits

Your account

A Placewoven account uses your name, email and password to save designs and follow orders. Passwords are stored as secure hashes. Email verification confirms your address; password recovery links expire. Signing out ends the current session, and resetting a password signs out existing sessions. The private team workshop uses separate managed access.

Your photos and designs

Your photos and saved designs are private to your account and the team members preparing your order. They are not published in a gallery. We use uploaded photos to prepare your selected crop and printable photo sheet. Image metadata is removed from those processed crops. Originals and completed designs are retained to support fulfilment and remakes. Request deletion from your account or order page; some transaction records may need to be retained.

Email and payment

Resend handles account verification, password recovery and order emails when delivery is enabled. Stripe handles secure payment; card details do not pass through the Placewoven application. Email and payment providers process the information needed to provide those services. We do not attach private photos to order messages.

Geographic services

Searching and exploring a place sends its location or visible area to the relevant map providers. Photos and passwords are never sent to map services. The interactive map uses OpenStreetMap; search uses Photon. City geometry comes from OpenFreeMap / OpenMapTiles and, where available, Microsoft building footprints. Elevation uses NRCan surveys where available and Mapzen Terrain Tiles elsewhere.

Landscape colours and source dates

Natural landscapes use ESA WorldCover 2021 land-cover classes and 2021 Copernicus Sentinel-2 median reflectance. Snow combines persistent mapped snow or ice with a conservative interpretation of twelve monthly NASA MODIS Terra observations from 2021. Cloudy and invalid observations are excluded. These dated sources describe a landscape interpretation; they do not show current vegetation or snow. Geographic classification, source resolution and cloud coverage can limit detail. The selected source record is included with the model.

Map credits

Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database Licence. Vector tiles are supplied by OpenFreeMap using OpenMapTiles. Supplemental Microsoft building coverage is under CDLA Permissive 2.0. See the elevation credits and sample-model source records.

Room previews

Room images are illustrative. A calibrated camera keeps your chosen map size in proportion to a 200 cm sofa or 120 cm console. See the interior asset credits and calibration. Actual colours and lighting vary.

Your choices

Your account provides an export of your data and a way to request deletion. Your device also keeps an unfinished design in browser storage so you can return to it. You can clear that storage through your browser settings.
